Enterprise web analytics platforms

Large organisations need more than reports: single sign-on, access control, guaranteed uptime, data governance and someone to call. These platforms are built for that, and priced accordingly.

Why each tool is on this list

What each one is best for here, how it serves this need, and its catch.

  1. 1

    Mixpanel

Best for public prices up to 20 million events

Mixpanel scales from a free plan to quoted Enterprise contracts without a change of tool, and its Growth prices are public up to 20 million events a month: $2,289 a month at 20 million on monthly billing, about 29% less billed yearly. EU data residency, in the Netherlands, is available on every plan, but you pick it when you create a project, and a project cannot change region later. Reports split by any property and go out by email or Slack on a schedule, and data pipelines to a warehouse are an add-on. Above 20 million events, and for Enterprise features such as anomaly detection or custom data retention, Mixpanel quotes a price. The catch: events are deleted after 2 years unless Enterprise changes that, and the JavaScript library sets a 365-day cookie by default.

    Matomo

Best for self-hosting or EU hosting with full control

Matomo is the only platform here you can run on your own servers. The On-Premise edition is free under the GPL v3 licence, with unlimited users and hits; Matomo recommends a separate database server above 1 million pageviews a month, and the premium features are then paid plugins, with bundles from €275 a month for up to 4 users. Matomo Cloud runs in Frankfurt with public prices up to 5 million hits ($975 a month), and its Enterprise plan adds custom limits, single sign-on and a customer success manager. Segments work on every report, with custom reports, scheduled email reports, an API, a paid data warehouse connector and an importer for Google Analytics data. The catch: cookies stay on until you switch them off, and on the cloud, today's reports update only every 6 hours.

  3. 3

    Sealmetrics

Best for cookieless revenue attribution with documented governance

Sealmetrics is cookieless analytics for sites that sell: it ties conversions and revenue to channels, campaigns and ads, credited to the last click of the session. It earns its place here with documents a data protection officer can check. All visitor data is processed and stored in Dublin, and its one US subprocessor sends service emails without visitor data. Scale, at €899 a month on yearly billing for 15 million events, adds webhooks, audit logs and priority support, and the quoted Enterprise plan adds unlimited events, isolated processing, a 99.9% uptime SLA and an account manager. Growth and Scale prices are public, there is no overage charge, and exports cover CSV, PDF, an API, BigQuery and Looker Studio. The catch: it counts sessions rather than unique visitors, holds no ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certificate, and its own pages disagree on site limits and on the uptime promise.

  4. 4

    Heap

Best for autocapture with warehouse sync and permissions

Heap earns its place here with its upper plans. Premier adds warehouse sync, unlimited projects, advanced permissions and region-specific storage, and Heap Connect copies data to Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift (an add-on on Pro, included on Premier). Pro brings account analytics, report alerts and 3 projects, with session replay and heatmaps as add-ons. Autocapture records every click from one snippet, so analysts can define events later and apply them to past data, which helps when teams ask questions nobody planned for. Contentsquare, which has owned Heap since 2023, also sells its features inside its own Product Analytics plans. The catch: only the Free plan has a public price, history is 1 year on Pro and Premier unless you buy more, and Heap says new events typically take less than an hour to reach its charts.

  5. 5

    Hotjar

Best for behaviour analytics hosted in Ireland or the US

Hotjar is now sold as Contentsquare, and its enterprise side sits in the Pro and Enterprise plans, priced by sales. Those plans add the API, alerts, revenue attribution and cross-device journeys, and let you store data in Ireland or the United States, where Free and Growth store it in Ireland. From 240,000 sessions a month, Growth is quoted too. Real-time dashboards, for errors only, are a Pro add-on or part of Enterprise. Contentsquare sells three product lines (Experience Analytics, Voice of Customer and Product Analytics, which carries Heap's features), each with its own plans, add-ons and limits. The catch: this is behaviour analytics that sits next to traffic analytics rather than replacing it, the tag sets a cookie kept 13 months, and the product lines take time to map before you can compare quotes.

    Adobe Analytics

Best for analyst teams that need raw hit data

Adobe Analytics is sold only by contract, in three packages (Select, Prime and Ultimate), with no public price. Analysis Workspace builds reports from freeform tables, flow, fallout, cohort and attribution panels, with segments anywhere, and Data Feeds deliver every hit to your own systems. Data is kept 25 months by default, extendable to 10 years and 1 month. Adobe says it acts only as a processor, and admins can hash or remove IP addresses. The price depends on the server calls you commit to, retention beyond 25 months and add-ons such as Customer Journey Analytics, with overage billed at the rate in your sales order. The catch: setup starts with a solution design and up to 250 eVars and 75 props, complete data takes about 2 hours, and data is processed in Oregon, London or Singapore, none of it in the EU.

What large organisations need

The reports in an enterprise plan often look like those of smaller plans. What changes is everything around them, and that is what to compare.

  • Access control. Single sign-on, so accounts follow your company directory, and roles that limit who sees what. Matomo's Enterprise plan lists single sign-on, and Heap's Premier plan lists advanced permissions.
  • Service levels. An SLA commits the vendor to uptime and support response times. Sealmetrics' Enterprise plan lists a 99.9% uptime SLA and an account manager, and Matomo's Enterprise plan a customer success manager.
  • Governance. Audit logs (on Sealmetrics' Scale plan), control over how long data is kept, and a data processing agreement your legal team can review. Mixpanel deletes events after 2 years by default, and only Enterprise can change that; Adobe keeps 25 months by default and sells extensions up to 10 years and 1 month.
  • Data residency. Where visitor data is stored and processed: your own servers with self-hosted Matomo, the EU with Matomo Cloud, Sealmetrics or Mixpanel's EU region, or Oregon, London and Singapore with Adobe.
  • Raw data. Exports to your own warehouse. Adobe's Data Feeds deliver every hit, Heap Connect syncs to Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift, Mixpanel sells data pipelines as an add-on, and Sealmetrics exports to BigQuery.

Our reviews confirm a feature only where the vendor's public pages list it. Where a pick below does not mention single sign-on or an SLA, ask for it, and get the answer into the contract.

Single sign-on is not limited to these platforms either. Crazy Egg's Enterprise plan includes it for $599 a month, billed yearly, Umami lists single sign-on and an uptime SLA on its quoted Enterprise plan, and Woopra's Enterprise plan lists single sign-on and data governance.

Quote-only pricing, and how to compare quotes

Of the six platforms here, only Adobe publishes no price at all. The others publish entry prices and quote their top tiers: Mixpanel above 20 million events a month, Matomo above 5 million hits, Contentsquare from 240,000 sessions and on Pro and Enterprise, and Sealmetrics for Enterprise. Heap prices each paid plan individually: Growth gets an estimate once the snippet is installed, and sales quote Pro and Premier.

A quote is only comparable if you know what it counts, and each vendor bills a different unit:

  • Adobe: server calls. Every tracked page view, link or event is one, and sending the same hit to a second report suite creates secondary calls, which are billed too.
  • Mixpanel and Sealmetrics: events. Mixpanel counts events across all projects, including those imported from a warehouse; Sealmetrics counts only human events.
  • Matomo: hits, meaning any tracked pageview, event, download, outlink, site search or content interaction, and on the cloud each request from an AI assistant.
  • Heap and Contentsquare: sessions. A Heap web session ends after 30 minutes without a page view.

To get quotes you can set side by side:

  1. Measure your volume in each vendor's unit over the last 12 months, including your busiest month.
  2. Ask what happens above the commitment. Adobe bills overage at the rate in your sales order, Matomo charges overage fees, Sealmetrics charges none but can move you up a plan after two months in a row over the allowance, and on Contentsquare's Growth plan heatmaps and funnels stop collecting until the next month.
  3. Get every add-on priced: Customer Journey Analytics and longer retention at Adobe, replay, heatmaps and Heap Connect at Heap, group analytics and data pipelines at Mixpanel.
  4. Ask for the price of years two and three, and the exit terms, before you sign year one.

Implementation effort

The licence is only part of the cost.

  • Adobe Analytics asks for a solution design document before tagging, recording what each custom variable holds. Depending on the package, there are 200 or 250 eVars per report suite to assign, plus 75 props, deployed through Adobe's tag manager with the AppMeasurement library or the Web SDK. Report suites, processing rules and marketing channels come on top. Plan for an analyst or an implementation partner.
  • Mixpanel gets data flowing from a snippet in minutes, but useful funnels need a list of named events and identify calls when people sign up or log in.
  • Heap captures every click from one snippet, so the work moves to naming events with its visual labeller and keeping definitions tidy.
  • Matomo Cloud is one script tag. Self-hosted, you run PHP with MySQL or MariaDB, and Matomo 6, in beta since September 2026, will need PHP 8.1 and MySQL 8.0 or MariaDB 10.6.
  • Sealmetrics is one script or a store connector, and the vendor plans a week of checking its figures against your real orders.
  • Contentsquare is one tag, with a Google Tag Manager template and a Shopify app, but its three product lines take learning.

Think about freshness as well. Adobe says complete data takes about 2 hours, Heap says new events typically reach its charts in less than an hour, and Matomo Cloud updates today's reports every 6 hours, though its real-time visits report refreshes every 5 seconds.

How to choose

  • Data must stay on your own servers: Matomo, the only platform here you can host yourself.
  • Data must stay in the EU, with public prices: Matomo Cloud in Frankfurt, Sealmetrics in Dublin, or Mixpanel with its EU region.
  • User-level product analytics at scale: Mixpanel publishes prices up to 20 million events; Heap adds autocapture and warehouse sync on quote-only plans.
  • An online store where many visitors refuse cookies: Sealmetrics sets no cookies and ties revenue to campaigns, but counts no unique visitors.
  • Analysts who need raw hit data, or other Adobe products in use: Adobe Analytics, if you can fund the implementation.
  • How people use pages, across teams: Contentsquare's Pro and Enterprise plans, next to a traffic analytics tool.
  • Already on Google Analytics: Analytics 360 raises its limits and adds service level agreements, by contract.

Questions to ask in a sales call

  1. Which unit do you bill, and what would our last 12 months cost?
  2. What happens when we go over: overage at what rate, a forced upgrade, or tracking that stops?
  3. Is single sign-on included, with which identity providers, and which roles and permissions are there?
  4. What uptime and support response times does the SLA commit to, and what do we get if you miss them?
  5. Where is our data stored and processed, including backups and subprocessors, and can we change region later?
  6. How long is raw data kept, and what does longer retention cost?
  7. Can we export all raw data to our warehouse, and in what format if we leave?
  8. Which features in the demo are add-ons, and which product does the quote cover? Adobe sells Customer Journey Analytics separately, and Contentsquare sells three product lines.
  9. What does implementation take from you, from a partner and from our team?
  10. What are the contract length, the price increases and the exit terms?

Questions

What is the best enterprise web analytics platform?

Mixpanel scores highest of the 6 enterprise platforms we reviewed, with 4.0 out of 5. Next comes Matomo (3.9).

How much does enterprise analytics cost?

Most enterprise tiers are quoted, but some high-volume prices are public. Sealmetrics charges €899 a month on yearly billing for 15 million events, Matomo Cloud $975 a month for 5 million hits, and Mixpanel $2,289 a month for 20 million events on monthly billing. Adobe Analytics publishes no prices at all: the quote depends on the server calls you commit to, retention beyond 25 months and add-ons.

Is Google Analytics 360 an enterprise option?

Yes. Analytics 360 is the paid edition of Google Analytics, sold by Google and its partners under a contract, with no public price. It raises the limits (125 custom dimensions instead of 50, 50 key events instead of 30, up to 50 months of data instead of 14), samples explorations at 1 billion events instead of 10 million, delivers intraday data within about an hour, and comes with service level agreements.

Which enterprise analytics platforms keep data in the EU?

Matomo Cloud stores data in Frankfurt, or on your own servers if you self-host. Sealmetrics processes and stores visitor data in Dublin. Mixpanel offers EU data residency in the Netherlands on every plan. Contentsquare stores Free and Growth data in Ireland and lets Pro and Enterprise customers pick Ireland or the US. Heap runs an EU data centre and lists region-specific storage on Premier. Adobe Analytics processes raw data in Oregon, London or Singapore.

Can I host an enterprise analytics platform on my own servers?

Of the platforms here, only Matomo. Its On-Premise edition is free under the GPL v3 licence, with unlimited users and hits, and runs on PHP with MySQL or MariaDB. Matomo recommends 2 CPUs and 2 GB of memory up to 100,000 pageviews a month, and a separate database server above 1 million. Premium features such as funnels and heatmaps are paid plugins, with bundles from €275 a month for up to 4 users.

Do enterprise analytics platforms need a cookie banner?

Most of them set cookies by default: Adobe Analytics for 13 months to 2 years, Mixpanel for 365 days, Contentsquare for 13 months, Heap for 13 months minus a day, and Matomo until you switch them off. In the EU that generally means consent. Sealmetrics sets no cookies and says its own analytics needs no banner, based on its own assessment rather than a certification, though its tracker builds what it now calls a device fingerprint in the browser, re-keyed daily on the server. Whether your site needs a banner depends on everything it loads and on the law where you operate.
